I have discovered that life is a roller coaster and I'm learning to enjoy the ride! I am a married mom of 4. I work part-time outside of the home and, of course, more that full time as a wife and mother! I do classes from my craft room in the basement...which is why we call it the "Craft Cave."

Hello Friend...again

More Tag Tidbits, more Genevieve paper, and of course, a sketch from the TAC catalog creation call. Have you found any of these cards in the new catalog yet?

Can you see how nice the papers in the collections blend together? And some of the tags are just too fun.

REMINDER: Open House this Saturday, July 12, from 2 - 6 in the cave!! Mark your calender and make plans to stop by & see me, check out the new catalog, make stuff with some *new* stamps!! Bring all your friends!!

Hello Friend!

VERY minimal stamping here! Sometimes you just wanna show the pretty paper. I love the colors in the Genevieve collection and how well they compliment one another! And, of course, everything goes well with black.

The phrase is originally vertical. Now, you can either do selective inking or masking and stamp one word at a time, or maybe you are fortunate enough to have UNmounted stamps and can cut the words apart, line them up on your mount and stamp the perfect phrase just the way you want!

Flourish Thanks

And another sketch makes an appearance! What do you think of this one? It's interesting... My favorite pick from my catalog submissions is done with this sketch. No....it's not this one. But if you guess...it's worth a goodie at the open house!
I used the White cotton Staz-on on clear acetate here. I suppose I could have stamped directly on the cardstock, but I was trying to go for a different look. The flower is "fussy cut" from Genevieve paper.
What the heck is fussy cut? C'mon quilters, help me out here... Fussy cut is making a special cut to get a particular portion of your fabric for a quilt square...
Or in this case, a particular flower going a particular direction in a specific rectangle.
The tag is also from Genevieve and the cardstock base is Raspberry.
I really like the tag tidbits set! Very versatile little sayings that fit almost anywhere...like on this tag. Hmm...do you think maybe it was made for that?

...the rest of the paper

Do you ever cut decorative paper for a card or project and wonder, "What am I going to do with that now?"

If you are a scrapper or a cardmaker you save it for another project. Here is a card done with some of the leftovers from yesterdays card. It could be it's twin!! I used the other half of the 8.5x11 Birch cardstock as the card base for this card. More of the decorative Genevieve paper as the background and for the green piece stamped with "love" from the Love Doodles set. Both papers have been edged with Burnt Umber (as well as the card base) and distressed. The tag was from a pack of vellum tags I acquired and stamped in Noir with the tic-tac-toe image from the same stamp set. It's also embossed with the Transcendance powder. Landscape was sponged onto the tag to give it some green color and then attached with black Scrapper's Floss.

Sympathy...

All of us have occasions to use these cards. What else is there to say about that? I don't usually have any on hand and most often have to make one quick.
Here is an elegant yet very simple card. I used the Birch cardstock as the base. The decorative paper came from the Genevieve collection. Both of these are edged with Burnt Umber and then I distressed the edges of the decorative green background paper. The stamp is from With Sympathy and embossed with copper. I used the colluzzle for the oval shape and edged that with Burnt Umber also. The organza ribbon seems to add just the right touch.
